In fact, I will dump almost all of them on my bed until I find the right one to match the book I’m currently reading. What bookworm would I be if I didn’t have bookish items? I own almost as many bookmarks as I do books. Specifically, Book of the Month and Owlcrate. Lastly, a few of my books have come from subscription boxes. There is an independent bookstore in my town that I used to go to growing up. My last job before the pandemic was smack in between three of them. When I was going into the capital city, which is packed with independent bookstores, I shopped whenever I had the chance. Compared to Target, I’ve only bought in-person in Barnes & Noble a handful of times, too, as the closest one is roughly 45 minutes away. Only I’ve bought from Books a Million in-person only once, since there isn’t one in my state. Most notably, department stores like Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, and Target. The rest of my books came from stores, either from shopping online or in-person. Plus, Amazon is often more likely to have a book I want available that the stores do not have available. Controversy aside, it is convenient and has reasonable prices. Either I bought them myself or they were sent to me as gifts. To be honest, I’ve bought the majority of my books from Amazon. I own at least 800 books, but I would not be surprised if it was more than that since it is almost impossible for me to count at the moment. I make it no secret I love owning books (shelf space be damned). However, at this point, I don’t think they are anymore. At the time, I thought my finances were all right. I had a few hopefuls, which is partially why I bought so many books in my last haul. Truthfully, I was hoping it wouldn’t take so long this time around for a temp assignment full-time permanent work was still up in the air. While I managed to score a few job interviews, nothing has worked out so far. Except I am not employed and I have not been employed for five months. Honestly, I might not have been so bad if I was currently employed. If you have followed me for a while, you know I’m a book hoarder with a terrible book buying problem.
Although, that is not exactly a good sign. It’s been a while since I posted a Stacking the Shelves post or a book haul.
